Over 100Gb worth of production critical assets were erased out of nowhere. What can I do?

We did not request these assets to be erased so have no idea why this would have happend.
Is there anything we can do to retrieve these files and make sure this never happens again?

Hi there,
I can see that a separate ticket was also raised for this, and Victor is already assisting. We will continue the conversation there.

@seharlan - To expand on this point for other users, since this could be an issue they may also (unfortunately) encounter, there are a few options to prevent accidental deletions:
- Definitely back up your files. You can do this with our Automatic Backup feature, which means you can always retrieve it from a deleted state. https://cloudinary.com/documentation/enable_automatic_backups_tutorial
- You should review your team members' user roles and restrict those who don't need deletion rights from having them. https://cloudinary.com/documentation/dam_admin_users_groups
- We also have granular access and key permissions for our Upload and Admin APIs that you can put into place. https://cloudinary.com/documentation/solution_overview#granular_access_key_permissions_for_upload_and_admin_apis
I hope @victor_cloudinary and @Cloudinary_John_H help you out, but also wanted to share these options publicly too.
