I'm new to this site and trying out stuff that's touted on the blog at:

But when I try it on my own image, I get an error:

This is the URL I'm trying to generate an image with:

https://res.cloudinary.com/droufgzos/image/upload/b_gen_fill,c_mpad,h_1000,w_1000/1591256109847_3_slaszy.jpg

Clicking on Contact support sends me to the KB website but doesn't show any way to get an answer from Cloudinary. I guess I can ask here. What's up with the "General Error"? Does this feature even work?

    Hi @Alan,

It seems that the original image has transparency. I have reupload the same image to your account and apply the same transformation b_gen_fill,c_mpad,h_1000,w_1000 and now it works properly:

    https://res.cloudinary.com/droufgzos/image/upload/b_gen_fill,c_mpad,h_1000,w_1000/test_ari0bg.jpg

Please have a look and let me know if you have additional requests.

    Regards,

    Wissam

    Hey Wissam,

Awesome! Close enough to what I wanted. I guess it would have been helpful to know that transparency is not allowed in source photos. Now how to fill in the white space with more generative AI!

    Thanks,

    Alan K.

    Hi Alan,

It is mentioned in our documentation that Generative fill can only be used on non-transparent images.:

Regarding changing the white background using generative AI, you can use gen_replace , as described here:

    For example:

    https://res.cloudinary.com/droufgzos/image/upload/e_gen_replace:from_white_background;to_sky_background/test_ari0bg.jpg

    Hope you find it useful.

    Regards,

    Wissam
